When we focus on the positive and allow the negative aspects to melt into the background, we can then present a canvas of our life where perfection is a perception.

Born from a brief pause in the artist’s creative journey, this painting speaks to the quiet courage of beginning again. As colour gradually finds its place across the canvas, a bold and vibrant palette emerges, bringing renewed energy and possibility to the work.

The painting reflects on the nature of beginnings, reminding us that every journey asks for a first step, and the courage to keep moving before the outcome becomes clear. As Plato observed, “the beginning is the most important part of the work.”

This piece was painted amidst the chaos of the Covid-19 pandemic. The vibrant yet tender pink hues speak of hope and joy. We are to shift our focus from dwelling on present circumstances, to praying and trusting God more instead. The artist has a strong conviction that this painting is meant to help raise funds for people affected by the crisis so that they can look forward to a better tomorrow.

This piece is a melody of colours and textures exploding in rich, lively shades of red, orange and pink, inspired by the divine love poem the Song of Solomon. It expresses a heart on fire for Jesus that pushes our thoughts out of anxious darkness and puts them into an outpouring of open adoration. Conversely, we experience the passion and longing of our heavenly Bridegroom for us. Let the Lord’s eternal song of love be sung over you, as He will never leave you nor forsake you.
