Three wounded fish stand side by side on a rugged stone, their bodies scarred by hardship, yet their voices rise as one. Against a backdrop of darkness and struggle, they sing—strong, unshaken, and united.
Their scars tell not of defeat, but of courage—the courage to endure, to overcome, and to sing through the storm. This work is a tribute to the quiet triumphs found in togetherness, where love, hope, and shared strength carry us through—even in the darkest of times.
Artist Profile
Yolande Law is a Singapore-born artist known for her playful and experimental approach to artmaking. She uses unconventional tools and materials—like spinning tops, twigs, and coffee—to create spontaneous marks that spark her imagination. These accidental forms evolve into abstract landscapes, creatures, and scenes of nature, rich with themes of life, hope, joy, and peace.
In addition to her material explorations, Yolande also creates abstract oil and acrylic paintings that reflect on biblical themes, bringing a contemplative and spiritual dimension to her work.
Yolande holds a BFA from NSCAD University (Canada) and a Master of Arts from the University of Huddersfield (UK), with exhibitions in both Singapore and Canada.
