Burhan Haldun (literally translated as "God Mountain") carries great significance in Mongolia's history. It is considered Genghis Khan's (founder of the Mongol Empire) place of birth and refuge whenever pursued by his enemies. Today, the area is a vast national park home to many rare species of plants and animals. In this summer painting, horses graze beside gentle waters under the protective lee of Burhan Haldun, a castle fortress and sanctuary created by the hand of God.
